New Councillor for the parish

Following the recent parish council meeting I’m delighted to introduce your new councillor, Rebecca Maguire. Rebecca lives in Copt Hewick and is passionate about the village and feels it is important that all voices are heard in the democratic process.  Her contact details can be found by clicking on the parish council link at the top of the page and then looking in the councillors section.

Hutton Conyers defibrillator

The council is pleased to announce that the awaited defibrillator for Hutton Conyers is now installed, registered and active.  It can be found on the outside wall of Hillside and we are grateful to Tim and Sarah for ‘hosting’ it.  The defibrillator is installed in a locked cabinet and access is obtained by calling 999. It can be used with no prior knowledge but please can everyone in the village watch the video which can be found in the useful links section on the home page, thank you.

Councillor vacancy

We now have the go-ahead to co-opt another councillor for the parish, please see the notice on the noticeboards.  An application form can be downloaded below and applications need to be returned to the clerk by April 24th for consideration at the May meeting.

Spring is on its way

Thankyou to Neil Cutler for this pretty photo of snowdrops in Copt Hewick, a reassurance as you scrape your windscreen that Spring is on its way.

Resignation

I’m sorry to announce that John Blakey has resigned from the parish council due to work commitments.  We are sorry to lose him and wish him well. This does mean that we now have a second vacancy so please do get in touch if you feel you could serve your local community as a parish councillor.

New recycling bins

The black boxes currently used for recycling are to be replaced over the next few weeks with new wheelie bins with blue lids.  Details of the changeover together with a refresher on what can be recycled can be found below.

Defibrillator update

The parish council has received a grant of £500 from North Yorkshire Council to help towards the cost of a defibrillator for Hutton Conyers.  We have applied for further financial help from the Department of Health and Social Care and will keep you updated.
